Back by popular demand: Two Microsoft Excel Workshops taught by Michael Zumchak of Easy Excel Classes, on Saturday February 12 in Lowenstein Room 1124.

Session I : 10 am to 1:30 pm for Beginners – $30

This workshop will include basic tools, tips, and shortcuts. The session will show you how to anchor cells, create charts, use pivot tables, and explore complex functions such as IF, VLOOKUP, and FIND.

Session II : 2 to 5 pm for Advanced Users – $30
The advanced class teaches some more functions and is even more about learning to make BETTER, MORE COMPLEX spreadsheets.

Topics include:
-building advanced models and templates with simple macros
-adding buttons and controls to the pages (scrolling, push buttons, arrows controls)
-advanced logic with multiple IFS, OR, and AND..
-text formatting functions like LEFT, LEN, MID, and TRIM to decode long strings into usable text
-removing duplicates (static and dynamically)
-OFFSET and database functions  (INDEX, LARGE, SMALL, and  MATCH)
-Validation and Conditional Formatting
-dealing with links
-intro to VBA macros!
-creating small macros to perform tedious repetitive tasks

EVENT OVERVIEW

StyleCareers.com is hosting a career fair for fashion industry professionals at 7WestNewYork (across from Empire State on 34th) on Thursday, October 28th from 2pm to 7pm. Recruiters will be looking for fashion industry professionals with backgrounds in: Apparel, Accessories, Footwear, Graphics, Textiles and Corporate Retail. This is the only fashion-specific career fair of the season. If you are in the market for a job, don’t miss this one-day-only event!

Admission is $10 at the door (cash only)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates are required to have a 4 year degree and 2 years wholesale fashion industry experience.
- OR – a 2 year degree and 4 years wholesale fashion industry experience.
- OR – no degree and 6 years wholesale fashion industry work experience.

Store-level retail and internships do not qualify as industry experience. Only candidates with corporate and district/regional level experience need attend. All resumes will be screened. No exceptions.

Confirmed Alumni include Jeremy Lowenstein, who is the Senior Marketing Director at Coty, as well as Asha Talwar – a Global marketer for Estee Lauder. Other confirmed Alumni are from Giorgio Armani, Kenneth Cole, Bloomingdales, all in Buying/Planning positions. Sean Shanker and his partner, creators and founders of Iphone app Stylicon will also be there. Come hear our Alumni Advisory Board discuss with students their experience at Fordham as well as their professional experience within the Retail/Beauty industry!

Join the Fordham Retail Club Excel Workshop — brush up on your skills before hitting the job market (or next year’s advanced classes)

Saturday, June 12   |   9:00 AM – 1:30 PM   |   Lowenstein Room 1124

The workshop, taught by Excel training coach Michael Zumchak of Easy Excel Classes, will include:
Basic Excel tools: pivot tables, charts/diagrams, conditioning sum, solver/goal seek, histograms, ranking, percentile uses…;
Advanced Excel skills: regression, ANOVA, t-test, sampling with a random number, countif command, scatter plots, if command…;
A marketing research case study, for which students (in groups) will be able to devise a plan of attack, using the Excel tools taught, to figure out market research objectives;
and
Lunch!
